Lucie Marquis: iD International Emerging Designer Awards 2006 joint winner
Get to know Lucie Marquis: joint first-place winner of the 2006 iD International Emerging Designer Awards.
Nearly 20 years on, a lot of exciting things are happening in the world of Lucie Marquis.
Based in Sydney, Lucie is building her creative studio, Lucie Marquis Studio, while preparing to relaunch her label, Lucie Marquis, later this year.
So, where did it all begin? Lucie’s career started as an intern at Sonia Rykiel in Paris in 2005, before she went on to work with some of fashion’s most recognised names, including Burberry, Betty Jackson, Mulberry, Topshop Unique and Markus Lupfer in London. In 2019, Lucie relocated to New Zealand, where she designed across Kate Sylvester’s mainline collections.
Today, Lucie is building Lucie Marquis Studio, a creative studio specialising in creative direction and collection development for contemporary womenswear brands in Australia and internationally. Working across the full design process, from research, concept development and storytelling through to range architecture, design development and final product, Lucie helps brands bring clarity, cohesion and strong creative direction to their collections.
Alongside building her studio, Lucie is also preparing to relaunch her label later this year. Inspired by summer and travel, the lifestyle brand will debut with a collection of wrap sarong skirts and T-shirts, with plans to expand into new product categories and collaborations. We can’t wait to see what this exciting new chapter holds for Lucie and look forward to following her journey from Sydney and beyond!
