THE CHILD I REFUSE TO ABANDON
As a child, I imagined that aliens appeared whenever my mother left home, inviting play, curiosity, and mischief. Over time, I realised that these aliens were never separate from me. They represent the playful, imaginative, and unconventional parts of my identity that resist conformity. This collection explores the balance between childhood and adulthood, fantasy and reality, and order and chaos. Rather than opposing one another, these qualities coexist to form a complete self. The alien becomes a symbol of the inner child that continues to question and create, reminding us that growing up does not mean leaving parts of ourselves behind.
