Meet the iD Board
Kate Grant, Managing Director of Sayso
Do you have a go-to ‘uniform’ that never fails for a smart work event?
Black pants, oversized blazer, a top with a bit of texture to it, and something with a block heel. And a red lip if the occasion calls for it.
What’s in your wardrobe that you will never, ever get rid of?
I'm quite a sentimental person, so I find it hard to part with things at the best of times. Two items immediately spring to mind - one is the Twenty-Seven Names dress I wore to my university graduation, and the other is a very, very worn sweatshirt I bought from the campus shop when I did an exchange to Queens University in Canada.
If you could have access to anyone’s wardrobe in the world, who would it be?
I think Joanne McNally has incredible style and I just know her wardrobe would be full of things I would genuinely love to wear. More realistically, one of my best friends has exceptional taste and I'm lucky to be able to pinch things from her wardrobe on a regular basis.
Fashion-wise, what would you say is your guilty pleasure?
I'm a millennial, so you can pry skinny jeans from my cold, dead hands.
What are you most excited about for iD 2027?
All of it! I'm looking forward to seeing the Emerging Designers as it's always so interesting to see fresh interpretations from up and coming talent. But mostly I'm excited for the vibe that iD brings to Ōtepoti in general - the city gets a real buzz about it as locals and visitors alike flit between shows, associated events, restaurants and retail, all with a shared love of fashion.
