archiveD: Fashion Revisited

A journey through fashion memories from the 1960s to the 2000s

Thursday 27 August, 7pm

The Savoy, Dunedin

Fashion is more than what we wear—it’s a time capsule of our lives. From school uniforms and first party dresses to wedding gowns, work uniforms, and beloved hand-knitted jerseys, our wardrobes hold memories of who we were, who we wanted to be, and the moments we’ll never forget.

Join the iD Dunedin Fashion Charitable Trust for archiveD, a unique fundraising event that journeys through fashion history from the 1960s to the early 2000s. Through a remarkable collection of designer garments and personal wardrobe treasures, archiveD invites you to revisit the styles, trends, and cultural moments that shaped generations.

You’ll see Colleen Stroud’s Benson and Hedges Fashion Design Awards entry from the 1960s (which features on the ArchiveD promotional poster), and other spectacular 1960s day, cocktail and evening wear by Kevin Berkahn, Colin Cole and Lewis Townsend among others.  Iconic designs by Marilyn Sainty, Adrienne Winklemann’s elegant dresses, playful pieces by Miranda Brown and Beth Ellery, early Tanya Carlson, World, and Nicholas Blanchet outfits all celebrate New Zealand’s fashion talent.  There’s a sprinkling of Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, Moschino, and Issey Miyake and of course, inspirational archival NOM*d outfits from the first few iD Fashion shows. Come, remember and get re-inspired to pull out your own archival pieces.

The evening will feature a runway show of over 50 looks with guests seated throughout the show.

archiveD is a celebration of fashion, memory, and the stories stitched into every garment, proudly sponsored by McMillan & Co.
