Japanese artist Tokujin Yoshioka’s work – The Honey-Pop Armchair - inspired this collection with its’ honeycomb structure made from glassine paper that allows the artwork to be folded flat and magically opened into the form of a chair. The designer’s fascination with this transformation from 2D to 3D has been applied to the patternmaking of her garments. Origami folding techniques and abstract organic shapes explore the relationship between body, garment, and space, where the body acts as a vehicle for revealing movement within the garment itself.
