MARINA

Exploring Australia’s marine ecosystem and the human impact on it, MARINA tells a story of exploitation including overfilled buckets of prawns, mud crabs tied up in string and stinking fish heads.  The basis for this collection is the artificial abundance portrayed at the Sydney Fish Market where colour, texture and form meet in a multi-sensory experience.  Images of creatures from the sea (or merchandise) on display at the market have been drawn, scanned, and digitally manipulated by the designer to create multi-layered repeat patterns and a visual narrative.
