Ruoyu ‘Yumi’ Wang

Six Crappy Shirts

The inspiration behind Ruoyu Wang’s collection ‘Six Crappy Shirts’ arose after watching the Australian doco-series ‘War on Waste’. Ruoyu was so astounded by the visual impact of the fast fashion industry, she wanted to convey the issue through her clothing.

Ruoyu’s intention with ‘Six Crappy Shirts’ is to capture the beauty found in low-end and second-hand garments. Utilising both op-shop finds and bargain-bin pieces, Ruoyu has repurposed them into couture garments for both men and women.
