NOM*d
1986
NOM*d presents 1986 for Autumn Winter 2017, a celebratory collection marking 30 years since the birth of the Dunedin brand.
An exploration of essential music and subcultural influences underpins the season, from the late 70’s and 80’s post- punk through to subversive 90’s grunge; signifiers of identity in reworked logos and graphics sit alongside iconic NOM*d prints.
1986 offers a steady utilitarian chord- functionality is reinforced through outerwear, with oversized wind and rain proof coatings, a refined parka and patched boxy jackets. Classic checks, herringbone and pinstripe wool styles reiterate NOM*d’s typically deconstructive approach to tailoring in cropped, raw edged jackets, soft trousers and playful pinafore dresses.
Knitwear lends a soft lounging feel to cardigan and jersey shapes; oversized yet lightweight in fine Italian mohair yarn, with panelling accentuated in highlighter coloured linking detail. Electric yellow and bright navy cut an energetic riff against a staple black palette this season and oversized unisex sweat shirting styles iconic sock and t-shirting printed staples.
This is NOM*d, since 1986.
