Blazer, trench coat, business shirt, biker and bomber jackets. This is the story of five archetypal garments and the scraps left behind in their production process. Seductively imperfect remnants and pieces are rescued and given new life — thrust to the forefront as objects of unraveled (and unrivalled) beauty. XXX explores deconstructed tailoring and re-constituted florals. Paper, silk and cotton merge to form hybrid materials that oscillate between two and three dimensions, between garment and sculpture. Imagery was created painting acrylic onto weeds and flowers from the lived environment through silk screens.
