NAEUN KIM

Exploring the after effects of the designer’s experience as a victim of sexual assault, the collection translates abstract emotions felt by the designer into a compelling story. The many layers and zips represent the designer hiding from the incident while the oversized and unbalanced silhouette represents the insecurity and confusion the designer went through in the past while the openings (slits, snap tape) shows the opening up of the story. By presenting these visual elements as symbols for the pain and trauma of the designer’s abuse, she hopes to inspire others to begin their journey towards healing.
