Faiha Rahmani
OF TWO MINDS
Culture plays a major role Faiha’s collection, reflecting her move to Australia from Indonesia when she was three. A family holiday to Turkey ignited her love of Islamic architecture and she drew upon this creating hand-drawn prints, scanning them and printing them onto silk. As this concept is based on her personal experience of religion and culture; the print colours don't conform and they create juxtaposition with contrasting colours. Furthermore Faiha references her Muslim culture by drawing on traditional Islamic dress codes.
