Designed, programmed and created using Shima Seiki digital knitting software and machinery, this five look collection includes garments constructed using cut and sew methods as well as whole garment knit technology. Working with the concept of escapism, the collection explores nostalgia and digital immersion through childlike, fun oversized forms combined with stimulating colours and drawings. Using Google Tilt Brush in a virtual reality headset, the designer first created the content in virtual reality, then drew directly into the Shima Seiki software to create jacquard knits, and drop shadow effects to translate the shift between two and three-dimensionality achieved in the virtual headset. The yarn used for the collection was a mixture of wool, cotton and rayons, to create different lighting effects, while quilting creates more shape and form. The collection is completed with a range of accessories including bags, glasses, earrings and bracelets.
