ADELLEN PASQUALE

LURE

This collection pushes the boundaries of fashion and fishing tackle to explore sources of great attraction and temptation. In the case of angling equipment, prey is enticed by the careful use of colour, embellishment, and silhouette. LURE reconfigures these items into a wearable collection which remains loyal to the aesthetic and the deeper function of the original forms. Textiles have been made from thousands of soft lures and tassels, hand-tied from coloured fishing line. Metallic fishing line forms elements of embroidery and fishing beads are used to embellish. The aim is to hook the audience and expose the wide applicability of these modes of attraction. Recycling has never been so seductive.
